About Dr Claire Taylor
Dr Claire Taylor is an experienced Medical Doctor with a special interest in Long Covid, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (PoTS), mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) and myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS). Dr Taylor runs a Clinic either in person or by Video consultation. Dr Taylor set up the clinic as she knew how difficult it was for patients with these conditions to obtain diagnosis and treatment, many having been told they had anxiety and not a physical illness.

She is a former Neuroscientist with a BSc Neuroscience (Hons) from the University of Edinburgh. She graduated in medicine (MBChB) with distinction in 2008. Dr Taylor has worked in various specialties but in particular Dr Taylor is interested in the immune system and post-viral illnesses. She first developed an interest in ME/CFS while working in rheumatology clinics and seeing patients with normal blood tests and scans who were clearly very unwell. Dr Taylor observed there appeared to be no understanding of a unifying, underlying pathology and patients were discharged with no treatment.
As a former neuroscientist, Dr Taylor has a good understanding of the autonomic nervous system and realised many of the patients also had POTS and MCAS. She has worked for an ME/CFS charity during the pandemic and through this consulted with many Long Covid patients who had nowhere else to turn. She has since given talks about Long Covid on independent SAGE and is a member of the World Health Network expert advisory team on Long Covid. She is an advocate for patients and fully up to date with any upcoming research, whilst she is also looking at the cardiovascular effects of Covid-19. Dr Taylor is a Long Covid Kid's Champion.
